About the event
The Nyogaya Foundation was created in 2017 to bring hope to widows and orphans in rural western Kenya—women who had lost everything to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and were left with no rights, no protection, and no voice. Today more than 1,500 widows, now called “Jewels,” are fighting to rebuild their lives despite walking miles for clean water, lacking access to basic healthcare, and struggling to feed and educate their children. Our outreach trip exists because these women and their families face challenges most of us cannot imagine— untreated illness, unsafe housing, cultural isolation, and daily survival without the systems we take for granted. By joining this mission, we step into their world with open hands with a focus on meeting the Jewels, assisting with house building, hosting free medical camps, and laying groundwork for a future community clinic.
